Image Quality and Pocketability
Featuring a sleek and compact form factor, in addition to Fujifilm's advanced X-series imaging abilities, the XQ2 Digital Camera is a point-and-shoot providing a 12MP 2/3" X-Trans
CMOS II sensor along with EXR Processor II to generate high-resolution stills and
full HD movies. The combined image sensor and processor facilitates a sensitivity range to ISO 12800, repeated shooting up to 12 frames per second, and also provides fast performance abilities to all facets of the camera. Fujifilm's proprietorship of the X-Trans sensor makes use of a unique randomized pixel array as a way to avoid the use of a resolution-diminishing optical low-pass filter, therefore creating images with the utmost sharpness and clarity.
Complementing the photographic capabilities, the XQ2 also includes a 4x Fujinon
zoom lens, which covers
35mm equivalent, 25-100mm focal lengths and delivers a fast f/1.8-4.9 maximum aperture. Extra-low dispersion and
aspherical elements are built into the optical design to diminish aberrations and create sharp, clear images while an HT-EBC coating has been utilized to cut down on
lens flare and ghosting. Taking advantage of the lens reach is optical image stabilization, which makes adjustments for camera shake to ensure sharp images when shooting with slower shutter speeds or longer focal reach.
The lens and imaging peripherals reside within a body of silver, black or white, which are accentuated by a dedicated physical mode dial, pop-up flash unit, and a large 3.0" 920k-dot
LCD monitor. Built-in
Wi-Fi connectivity further takes advantage of the ability to share images to linked mobile devices or print images using the instax SHARE printer wirelessly and a range of Film Simulation functions are also available for emulating the Fujifilm films appearance.
