Nikon Firmware Updates

Firmware is a set of instructions which are read only that is embedded into a hardware apparatus to add or enhance functions. Sometimes Nikon firmware updates are two parts labeled A or B. Several updates will carry out either A or B, while others may update both A and B. A few updates will carry out both A and B simultaneously, while another will only perform one update at a time. Instructions should be read carefully before executing an update, because firmware updates become permanent and may not be 'undone' from outside the service department. The newest firmware editions will overwrite older editions and will also contain all prior update changes.
