The camera makes use of the Nikon intelligent Scene Detection System featuring Color 3D Matrix Metering II to capture drop dead, high-definition images. This metering also takes into account the contrast, brightness, subject distance, plus the colors contained in the scene for precise, balanced images. The auto white balance, i-TTL flash, autofocus and subject tracking, all work in harmony as well.
The camera is also an HDSLR, containing 1080p HD movie capture. Selectable frame rates feature 30/25/24p using the high resolution plus 30/25/24p at 720p. Additional useful attributes at the photographer's beck and call for capturing movies include full-time autofocus with face-priority, manual exposure control, dedicated headphones, stereo mic inputs, Simultaneous Live View, plus lots more.
