Fuji has developed a completely new lens mount system and interchangeable lens line. One attribute which Fuji is publicizing is it's exceedingly short flange focal length from the flange mount to the sensor, which is specified at only 17.7 millimeters, which is among the most shortest distances of mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras.
This very short focal space from the flange results in less image degradation results at the frame corners than traditional systems and increased edge resolution, less chromatic aberrations. and reduced vignetting
In addition, as the exit pupil inside the XF lenses are almost identical in size to the APS-C image sensor, the projected light should pass through in a much more parallel behavior, delivering even photo quality across the entire frame.
RIP Fuji S5 pro as it's no longer being produced. Its been discontinued. Fuji confirmed that it's no longer being manufactured. Also they stated there's no alternative in the works and that Fuji is content to focus on their digital compact and bridge camera segment where they have good market share.
There was no replacement camera in the marketplace that could hold a candle to the S5 Pro's colors, dynamic range, and skin hues. It was the most 'SLR film like' DSLR camera in the marketplace. Those who have used this camera know just how good it performs and the amount of post processing time it saves over other cameras trying to fix a recurring problem of blown highlights
Those that have never used one don't have any idea what they're missing. Sure it's somewhat slow with a pixel count smaller than other DSLR's but the positive points are far stronger than the
negative points. Now if you're into sports photographer then you should be looking elsewhere although for wedding, portrait, and landscape images this is swell camera.
Since the S5 Pro not being made any longer, it will be sorely missed and will become a sought after camera meaning that it will be worth more in the future.

Course. Since there is no cut filter of any kind in front of the camera's sensor, the Fujifilm IS Pro
SLR Digital Camera is capable of imaging a broad frequency range from the UVA (380nm) through the visible portion of the spectrum and into the near Infrared spectrum (IR below 1000nm). However, it will not capture IR heat energy in ranges above 1350nm. This makes the camera ideally suited for a broad range of applications including forensic, medical, scientific and artistic uses.
The camera is built on the same platform as the FinePix S5 Pro digital SLR system, and incorporates Fujifilm's Super CCD SR sensor that uses a unique layout of twelve million paired photodiodes (6.17 million larger 'S' photodiodes for main image information, combined with 6.17 million smaller 'R' photodiodes for bright area information), and delivers improvements in noise, dynamic range, color and tonality.
Furthermore, the Real Photo Processor Pro ensures that the information is handled in such a way to produce images that are beautifully vibrant, with two stages of noise reduction that delivers an impeccably clean image, and also permits light sensitivity up to ISO 3200 while achieving sharp, low-noise images. Also, dark noise reduction process, subtracting the residual, ambient noise on the sensor from the actual exposure, helps the camera produce smooth, clean images when long shutter speeds are used.
The Fujifilm IS Pro is built using a tough, magnesium alloy shell, and has weatherproofing seals in all critical areas providing a camera that is not only technically advanced, but extremely durable making it well suited for both interior and outdoor location shooting. The camera's
shutter mechanism is also a testament to its durability, as it has been tested to exceed the key benchmark of 100,000 cycles. The Fujifilm IS Pro also affords the user much greater control over the unique image parameters that its technology provides. Six stepped dynamic range settings between 100% (normal dynamic range) and 400% (dynamic range expanded by two stops) will enable the
photographer to achieve a broader range of detail in their
images. MSRP $2,599.
Fujifilm FinePix S5 Pro DSLR
The camera for the image conscious professional - The
Fujifilm FinePix S5 Pro DSLR! For the first time, a professional DSLR
body featuring the Fujifilm Super CCD SR Pro coupled with Real Photo
Processor Pro technology providing increased performance, control and durability. The increased dynamic range from the Super CCD SR double
pixel technology (6.17 million S-pixels and 6.17 million R-pixels)
became popular in the FinePix S3 Pro with
photographers. The new FinePix S5 Pro continues these advancements by
coupling the proven Super CCD SR Pro with the companies new RP (Real
Photo) Processor Pro for even more outstanding film-like results. The
two technologies will be married together in a fully digital and durable
metal alloy body frame. This opens the door for Fujifilms technologies
to expand into other venues such as outdoor and high endurance
