The Freedom of High Resolution
The Canon EOS 5DS DSLR Camera is the long-awaited sequel to the flourished 5D Mark III and ushers in new technology and a number of momentous upgrades, placing it in soaring territory for a DSLR. Presenting a 50.6MP
full frame CMOS sensor
, the camera
absorbs ultra-high resolution images fitting for large-scale printing and considerable, creative cropping. The Dual DIGIC 6 Image Processors implement the resources to handle this profusion of information,
facilitating fast performance speeds and the highest image quality. The 5DS also gives prominence to advanced video abilities including
1080p HD capture
at 30 frames per second and a Time Lapse movie mode which captures still photos at set intervals and blends them into a full HD video.
The EOS Scene Detection System with the 150,000-pixel RGB+IR metering sensor provides precise exposure and color metering and the 61-point High Density Reticular AF sensor with 41 cross-type points enables accurate AF placement and Canon's EOS iTR (Intelligent Tracking and Resolution) enhances AF performance by using information from the metering sensor. Crop shooting at 1.3x and 1.6x allows for flexibility in the size of image files created and the selection of lenses. Also, a built-in intervalometer and bulb timer expand your creative options. An advanced mirror control mechanism and new selectable shutter release lag times control camera vibration for reduced blur and quiet operation. Anti-flicker functionality compensates for flickering light sources, providing consistent exposure metering during continuous shooting. Despite its large file sizes, the 5DS can still offer up to a 5 fps continuous shooting rate.
For stable eye-level formation the 5DS hallmarks the Intelligent Viewfinder II delivering 100% coverage. In augmentation to its clear view, a transparent, superimposed LCD is integrated which displays context information and provides a customizable perspective of grid lines and focus points. The 3.2" LCD ClearView II monitor implements live view composition and playback using 1.04m-dot resolution and a viewing angle of 170º. High-transparency components and multi-coating hinder reflections for bright viewing,
particularly important when shooting movies.
The 5DS is an enduring and multi-faceted camera for cutting edge use, yet its dimensions approach that of the 5D Mark III. A magnesium-alloy case provides resistance to the elements and the elements and there are inputs for a PC terminal, an external microphone jack, a 3-pin input along with HDMI out plus
USB 3.0 compatibility. The tripod socket and the base plate have also been reinforced to diminish vibrations and ensure a safe attachment to support systems. There are dual media slots for SD format and Compact Flash memory cards. A customizable Quick Control System allows you to quickly switch between frequently used settings and functions.
