Old Sacramento

Located on 28 acres, the Sacramento historic waterfront district was the location of both fire and flood tragedy along with triumph like raising of the height of the city streets, the Pony Express terminus, founding the Transcontinental Railroad, along with being the home of first thriving business community in California, which was fueled by the river, gold and agriculture.

Old Sacramento is here today because of past and continuing efforts by, public and private museums, business, scores of volunteers, individuals the City of Sacramento, Sacramento County, the State of California, Old Sacramento Historic Foundations, and numerous others, Old Sacramento is still a thriving entertainment and shopping district along with being a global destination for tourists.
