Back-illuminated image sensor
A kind of digital imaging sensor which makes use of a innovative arrangement of the image elements to enhance the volume of light acquired and thereby increase low-light operations. This technique was used in specialized roles such as cameras for low-light security plus astronomy sensors, although was extremely complex to manufacture and required additional refinement before it could become used on a wider scale.
BI sensors made by OmniVision Technologies have subsequently been installed in consumer electronics for other electronic manufactures such as the HTC' EVO
4G, and as a foremost selling point of the Apple iPhone 4 camera
Touchscreens starting to be seen on more
digital cameras
The touchscreen features two primary attributes. Number one, it enables a person to directly interact with what's on the display, rather than reacting indirectly with a touchpad or mouse pointer. Number two, it lets a person interact without needing any intermediate devices needing to be hand held (other than using a stylus, optional for most touchscreens). Touchscreen displays may be connected to a computer, or to a network acting as a terminal. They have also played a major part in the design and
layout of digital devices like personal digital assistants (PDAs), satellite navigation devices, smartphones, and video games.

Continuous Burst Shooting
If you haven't used continuous shooting mode (sometimes called continuous shooting mode)
with your digital camera you're missing out. Most cameras today have it and if you make a habit of
regularly using it your resulting images can be quite fabulous.
The photo sequence below was shot using a Nikon D50 DSLR camera which can shoot as many as 2.5 frames each second (although this may sound like a lot, however in the DSLR
world its on the short side. For instance a Canon 20D can shoot 5 frames each
second).

Compact Digital Cameras
Compact
cameras are a type of digital camera made to be small and portable while being
particularly suitable for snapshot and casual uses. As such, they are often
called pocket cameras or point & shoot cameras. The smallest, typically under 20
mm in thickness, are labeled subcompacts or as "ultra-compacts" with some being
only credit card size. Most, except for water-resistant or ruggedized versions,
use a retractable lens assemblage which allows a rather thin camera to feature a
reasonably long focal length which can fully take advantage of image sensors
larger than the ones on camera phones.

Lens Hood Benefits
A lens hood does a couple of jobs. It stops unwelcome stray light from getting
into the lens, by acting as an extension and shades the front of the lens.
Additionally, there's an extra advantage of some optional protection if the lens
is bumped or dropped. Also a lens hood attached to the front of your lens will
protect your images from lens flare. Lens flare typically occurs when your point
your lens at a bright light source.

A Photographic work of art of President Lincoln
Captured February 5, 1865. President Lincoln was the very first American president who used photography for political reasons. During his initial presidential campaign during 1860, thirty-five portrait images of the presidential candidate taken by Mathew Brady a photographer and circulated throughout the nation. The immediacy from a photograph produced a feeling of intimacy between a viewer and a subject (or the voter and the candidate) that scant few painted portraits ever achieved especially in the middle of the nineteenth century, when photography was still unique to many Americans. At that era, photography, or picture-taking as it was called, was extremely new while the cameras were quite huge.
