Michihiro Yamaki,
Sigma Founder Dies
CEO and founder of the Sigma Corporation Michihiro Yamaki. died in Tokyo, Japan, of liver cancer on Jan 18, 2012 , he was 78 years old.

A Photographic work of art of President Lincoln
Captured February 5, 1865. President Lincoln was the very first American president who used photography for political reasons. During his initial presidential campaign during 1860, thirty-five portrait images of the presidential candidate taken by Mathew Brady a photographer and circulated throughout the nation. The immediacy from a photograph produced a feeling of intimacy between a viewer and a subject (or the voter and the candidate) that scant few painted portraits ever achieved especially in the middle of the nineteenth century, when photography was still unique to many Americans. Tamron and Tokina Become Micro Four Thirds Members
Today, there's really great news for Micro 4/3s photographers. Three new lens makers have joined the 4/3s format which includes lens builders Tamron and Tokina along with video camera manufacturer Astrodesign. Astrodesign builds 4K video rigs, although not much interest to the majority of you, however the two lens manufacturers hold a great deal more interest.
Tokina and Tamron have manufactured lower-priced lenses for SLRs cameras since the film days.

SD Wireless LAN Cards Standardized
The Secure Digital Association announces standardization for SD wireless communications cards. The standard piggy backs upon the work created by Toshiba, which showing compliant cards. The standard features two communications systems, symbolized as "D" and 'W.' 'W' cards have the ability communicate with other electronic devices (like tablets and TVs), as a peer-to-peer approach, or upload to 'cloud' type services. A 'D' portion of the standard also provides for connecting to home networks. 'W+D' cards allow both types of communication will also be offered.
