The California Zephyr allows you to follow the trail of pioneers, gold prospectors and the Pony Express along America’s earliest
transcontinental rail route. Get acquainted with farmland, prairies, deserts, rivers, and mountains. Amtrak’s Sightseer Lounge
gets you up close to the natural splendor of the West without disturbing nature’s awesome beauty. Let your mind wander back in
time as the train takes you across the country.
Look forward to your own vacation skiing, soaking in steaming hot springs, or white-water rafting. Every season offers something
special, from a tour and tasting at one of the area's many
wineries to horseback riding along a scenic trail.

The Coast Starlight train takes you to all the hot spots on the West Coast: Seattle, Portland, Eugene, San Francisco, Monterey,
Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. En route the scenery creates a gorgeous backdrop snow-covered mountains, dense forests,
fertile valleys and long stretches of Pacific Ocean shoreline.
There are plenty of places to stop along the way. Stroll along Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf. Take a break in Paso Robles
where you can visit one of over 48 wineries or relax in the natural hot springs. Stop in San Luis Obispo, take a scenic tour along
the Pacific Coast and climb the enchanted hill to Hearst Castle.
