Why Buy an Ereader?
E-readers have been growing in popularity since the emergence of the e-reader around 2006 from Sony. More and more versions of ebook readers/electronic readers or simply put- e readers are coming on the market every day. An e-reader is an electronic reading device that is used to display electronic books. A Personal Data Assistant (PDA) can also display text on a screen and, in theory, can be used to display e-books, but does not have the benefit of the electronic ink display like a true e-reader. E-readers are very compact, most having a 5 to 6-inch display. Here are some of the many benefits of e-readers over hard copy books:
• One e-book reader with several books installed is much more convenient to carry with you than the actual book in printed format. Most e readers have the capacity to hold hundreds of books.
• A collection of e-books does not require storage space. There is no need to fill a room full of bookshelves.
• You can adjust the style of font and the font size to anything that makes reading easier for you.
• Depending on which device you have, an e-reader can be easily read in low light or even in the dark.
• Depending on the model of e-reader, e-books can be converted to audio books.
• When you turn on your e-reader, it can open to the last page read of the book you were reading.
• You can highlight or annotate an e-book in a manner that does not permanently alter it.
• You can download e-books to ebook readers so that you don’t have to carry the e-book with you as well.
• An e-book will not go out of print.
