Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2

The Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 mounts for Canon EF and Nikon F spans a versatile and long-reaching focal length range in a 4x zoom handling telephoto through super telephoto perspectives. An optimized optical design compliments the long reach that includes three low dispersion (LD) glass elements to diminish chromatic aberrations and color fringing through the entire zoom range. eBAND and BBAR anti-reflective coatings have also been added to cut down on ghosting and flare when shooting in strong, backlit lighting situations.

Looking past its optical attributes, the G2 version of this particular lens also includes a FLEX ZOOM LOCK device to allow locking the zoom location at any focal length position to restrict accidental zoom extension. Conventional zoom lock is also included to prevent barrel extension during transit. Benefitting handheld shooting situations, VC (Vibration Compensation) is a 4.5-stop-effective image stabilization device that helps to dwindle the appearance of camera shake for crisper results when shooting using slower shutter speeds. The ring-type Ultrasonic Silent Drive (USD) autofocus motor provides notably quick and precise focusing performance to handle working with quick-moving subjects, and full-time manual focus is also available for fine-tuned control. An advantage when using outdoors, the lens also offers a moisture-resistant build along with a fluorine-coated front element to protect against dirt, dust, moisture, and smudging from disturbing image quality. The ergonomic and durable metal build of the lens also makes use of textured focus and zoom rings, and rotating tripod collar that's removable, featuring an Arca-type compatible foot is included to better facilitate shooting from tripods and monopods.

Spanning a versatile, long-reaching range, this tele to super-tele zoom is designed for FX-format Nikon F-mount cameras, and can also be used with DX models where it will provide a 225-900mm equivalent focal length range.

Three low dispersion elements are incorporated to nearly eliminate both axial and transverse chromatic aberrations and color fringing for increased clarity and color fidelity throughout the zoom range.

Both eBAND and BBAR coatings have been applied to suppress ghosting and lens flare for improved contrast when working in backlit conditions.

VC image stabilization helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake by up to 4.5 stops for more effective handheld shooting in difficult lighting conditions. Three separate VC modes are also available to suit various styles of shooting: Mode 1 is a balanced setting for general use, and promotes both a stabilized viewfinder image and stabilized results; Mode 2 is designed exclusively for panning movements; and Mode 3 is optimized to stabilize only during capture without stabilizing the viewfinder image.

A ring-type USD autofocus motor delivers quick and precise focusing performance to suit working with moving subjects. This motor also affords full-time manual focus control.

A FLEX ZOOM LOCK mechanism enables you to lock the zoom at any position in order to prevent unwanted zoom extension during use. A conventional zoom lock switch is also featured, which locks the zoom in place at the 150mm position to prevent zoom extension during transportation.

A sealed, moisture-resistant construction benefits this lens' use in inclement conditions, and a fluorine coating has also been applied to the front lens element to protect against dust, dirt, and smearing.

Durable metal barrel uses a curved, ergonomic shape for easy handling, and both the zoom and focus rings are textured for improved grip.

A removable rotating tripod collar features an Arca-type compatible foot and benefits working with the lens atop a tripod or monopod.

An electromagnetic diaphragm is used for more precise and consistent exposure control, especially when shooting at high continuous shooting rates. Due to this unique design, this lens is only compatible with select Nikon F-mount cameras that support an electromagnetic diaphragm, including the D3100, D3200, D3300, D5000, D5100, D5200, D5300, D5500, D7000, D7100, D7200, D300, D300s, D600, D610, D700, D750, D800, D800E, D810, D810A, D3x, D3s, D4, D4s, Df, D500, and D5 DSLRs.

Compatible with optional TAP-in Console for fine-tuning select focusing adjustments and for updating lens firmware.
