Description: Sony SAL-50M28 Normal AF D 50mm f/2.8 Macro Autofocus Lens

The Sony SAL 50mm f/2.8 Macro is multitalented as a traditional lens and appropriate for all around photography. Featuring a minimum focusing space of just 7.9", the lens presents a 1:1 magnification ratio (life-size) and employs a dual-floating element layout to rectify aberrations. The focus-range limiter plus focus-hold button provide reassure operation, while the circular aperture supplies a natural appearing background.
This macro-focus compact lens envelops an entire range all the way from life-size on to infinity. And "Life size" macro imaging signifies that the photo you acquire is the identical size to the subject in real life - providing you with spectacularly sharp images of flowers, postage stamps, insects, small nature subjects, gemstones, and other collectibles. When mounted on Sony alpha DSLR camera bodies, this lens presents a 75mm focal length (similar to a 35mm SLR film camera), meaning it may also be employed as a standard through midrange telephoto lens.

There's nothing to dislike about this lens, it simply does it's job and does it
rather well. Oh being a macro lens maybe we could wish for a rear focus so as
not to interfere with close-up macro shots.
