The latest version of the Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 OS DG zoom telephoto lens in a compact package. If you plan on shooting images in poor light situations like concerts and weddings DO NOT GET THIS LENS!, buy the Sigma 50-150mm f/2.8 HSM or else the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 HSM instead. If you need a fast lens for low light, this isn't the lens.

The OS function allows for shutter speeds up to 4 stops slower than otherwise possible. Capturing telephoto photos becomes easier for all kinds of photography situations like nature and sports. Even when mounted on a Pentax camera or Sony camera body, the integrated OS function can be used although the camera body already contains an anti-shake feature. The camera shake adjustment can be readily seen in by peering into view finder, the photographer can easily verify precise focus and make certain their subject doesn't move.

Special Low Dispersion glass elements (SLD) reveal exceptional compensation for all types of aberration. Super Multi-Layer Coating cuts down on ghosting and flare while providing high contrast images through out the total focal array. It weighs ja scant 610 grams and has an upper diameter limit of just 76.5mm (3.0"), for a total 126.5mm (5.0") length, This compact package makes for a handy hand held telephoto and travel photography lens. A 9 bladed round diaphragm creates prominent out of focus bluring for the backgound image areas . The maximum magnification ratio is 1:3.9, with a short focusing space of only 150cm (59.1") throughout the entire zoom reach allowing for ideal for close-up shooting. Updated Review June 2, 2011
