DC lenses are specially created for DSLR cameras. The rear lens image circle matches the smaller diameter used for the digital camera mage sensor. This results in these lenses being lighter and more compact, and are fully suited for DSLR cameras.

An f/1.4 lens is not usually as efficient as the same manufacture's f/1.8 or f/2 lenses, even when both are stopped down to f/5.6. the lens with the wider aperture is heaver and more expensive, so don't choose it as your standard unless you are planning a great deal of photography poor light conditions. There' plenty of reasons for using a wide aperture, but avoid buying a lens with an aperture wider than you need.

This lens is not suitable for any large-sensor digital SLR camera or for 35mm SLR film cameras.

The HSM feature allows this lens to autofocus on Nikon D40/D40x, Nikon D60, Nikon D3000, Nikon D3100 and the Nikon D5000 DX Cameras

Features

This big aperture 30mm F1.4 EX DC HSM prime lens was created to match the APS-C size sensors of DSLR cameras and will cause acute vignetting on single lens reflex film cameras or full frame APS-H digital cameras.
