igma announces a new 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 DG HSM II Lens
The new Sigma 12-24mm HSM II lens features a single SLD plus four FLD glass elements that compensate for color aberration and present excellent image quality all the way through the complete zoom range. In addition, three glass molded elements plus one aspherical hybrid lens provide advanced quality in a lightweight and compact encasement, while Super Multi-Layer Coating cuts down on ghosting and flare.
This lens features superior peripheral brilliance and captures sharp, high contrast photographs even shooting at maximum aperture openings.
Encompassing a Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) allows silent and high speed AF while providing for manual focus override that is full-time. The new 12-24 lens provides a minimum focus space of 28cm (11.0") through the total zoom extent, plus a maximum 1:6.4 magnification ratio . additionally, it comes with Sigma’s splash proof engineering allowing it to be used in harsh conditions.
