In 2009 Samsung was third place in production of the compact camera market. Since that time, the company has been focusing more on higher-priced cameras. In 2010, Samsung launched the next-gen interchangeable lens camera (EVIL), the NX10 thereby beginning competition toward this new category of the camera market.

Samsung introduces NX11 i function mirrorless camera
 Samsung
introduces the NX11 interchangeable lens camera with large-mirrorless sensor.
This revision of the existing NX10 model allows support for its i-Function function,
that was introduced with the NX100. The camera will come packaged with a revised
edition of the Samsung 18-55mm kit lens, subsequently featuring an i-Fn button. The

EVIL camera
The new Samsung NX100 electronic viewfinder, interchangeable lens (EVIL) camera
comes about about a year since the Samsung NX-10 is more than a just rumor,
though it was only speculation in January. The more SLR-looking camera seemed
well built, but we never heard much more of it again. This spanking new NX-100,
though, seems like a real winner. The features, styling, specs, and look
tempting, but will it be able to survive with the competition of high-output
point-and-shoot cameras and multipurpose DSLRs cameras.
