Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 II Digital Camera The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 II Digital Camera is a compact, point-and-shoot that provides a large 1 inch 20.2MP, Exmor RS BSI CMOS sensor and produces high resolution still images and internal-recording UHD 4K video up to 30 frames per second, and super slow-motion full HD movies up to 960 frames per second. This sensor's engineering utilizes a stacked CMOS image sensor containing a DRAM chip and backside-illuminated technology to enhance clarity and image quality when working in poorly-lit conditions as well as low-noise images and a sensitivity range of ISO 100 thru 12800. The DRAM chip is unified with the sensor, as well as combined with the BIONZ X processor to allow fast readout speeds, burst shooting up to 14 frames per second, and a maximum physical shutter response of 1/3200 sec plus a maximum electronic shutter speed of 1/32000 sec.

The Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T*, 8.3x built-in optical zoom lens provides a 35mm-equivalent 24-200mm focal length range covering a broad perspective of focal lengths to deliver versatile, multi-functional photography from a single zoom lens. A consistent maximum aperture of f/2.8 is very effective in poor light along with shallow depth-of-field control of focus. Optical SteadyShot image stabilization is also handy to help diminish the effects of camera shake when shooting in poorly-lit conditions and whrn using extended zoom magnifications. The lens also contains 7 aspherical elements including one Advanced Aspherical lens to diminish aberrations and distortion while Carl Zeiss T* anti-reflective coating helps to reduce lens flare, surface reflections, and ghosting in order to produce images that are rich in clarity and contrast.

A Supersonic Wave Motor (SSM) with direct drive provides fast and effortless AF action while Eye autofocus enables strict eye-detection focusing with acknowledgement that a subject's eye is in focus even when their head may be somewhat turned. Flexible Spot areas allow exact focus placement, and Lock-on autofocus keeps focus locked onto a moving subject, even if that subject momentarily leaves the frame. Seamless close-up shooting is also permitted, and there is no longer a requirement to shift to a dedicated macro mode, for focusing in on subjects as close as 1.2".

For composing and playing back images, the RX10 II contains a large tilting 3.0", 1228K-dot, Xtra Fine LCD screen design to better handling working from both high and low angles. WhiteMagic technology is made a part of the display to increase the effective brilliance of the screen. Additionally, the XGA OLED Tru-Finder electronic viewfinder blends four aspherical elements for keen edged eye-level composition. An automatic eye-sensor perceives when an eye is included in the viewfinder and illuminates the EVF while turning the LCD off.

4K UHD video is supported up to 30 frames per second in XAVC S format giving credit to a high-speed front-end LSI which formats the data in full pixel readout with no pixel binning or line skipping. The XAVC S format allows for high-bitrate photography up to 100 Mbps. There is a built-in stereo microphone along with an external mic jack plus a headphone jack from audio monitoring are provided. Professional modes such as full manual exposure control along with uncompressed off-camera recording are also available.

Built-in Wi-Fi along with NFC (Near Field Connectivity) provide for easy wireless connections to smartphones, tablets and PC's in order to transmit images for sharing as well as to make use of your smartphone as a remote control using the free Sony PlayMemories application.

The RX10 II's compact magnesium alloy body is dust and moisture resistant. It features a built-in pop-up flash along with the as the Sony Multi-Interface hot shoe for connecting microphones, flashes, lights, monitors, and other accessories. A multi-compatibility media card slot allows the use of Memory Stick, SD series, and micro-SD series memory cards. A click or click-less manual control ring mounted on the lens allows you to adjust multiple camera settings without removing your eye from the image while customizable buttons offer quick access to the most needed camera settings.
