My name is Gene Wright and today I want to
show you some images and tell you about the slinder, trendy Pentax Optio I-10 with a design
conceived by the classic SLR
film camera. This head-turning first model in the new Optio I line includes a flash unit and speaker in the upper mid-section of the SLR-shaped body while the camera's front panel is
adorned with quality simulated leather texture and the classic Pentax logo
centered in front.
The Optio I-10 includes a 12.1 megapixel high resolution CCD sensor, a wide
angle, 5x optical zoom lens (28mm-140mm equivalent) and a 2.7 inch widescreen LCD, and HD video capture at 720p and 30 FPS. For
the most advantageous image capture, this camera includes an improved Pixel Track Shake Reduction technology
and a mechanical sensor shift Shake Reduction system for blur-free images, Blink
Detection, Smile Capture, and enhanced Face Detection that can discover up to 32 faces
which also includes cats and dogs.

SLR design
The classic, striking design of the Optio I-10 reminds you of a nostalgic SLR
film camera. Pentax arranged the flash unit and speaker in the upper middle of the camera body to
fashion this original SLR-shaped body, and the leather like texture and
nostalgic turn of the century Pentax logo add style to the camera design.
5x wide angle thru telephoto zoom lens optical range
The Optio I-10 includes an optical 5x zoom lens that envelops focal lengths
starting at 5.1mm thru 25.5mm (35mm equivalent format of 28mm wide angle to 140mm telephoto). This wide zoom range
permits the Optio I-10 to attain a wide variety of themes and views from
spectacular scenery, grandiose architecture and photos in tight spaces, to
highly cropped photos taken from distances. A smart Zoom utility makes available
yet even tighter zooms on subject matter and expands the range of the digital zoom to approximately 31.3x.
12.1 effective megapixels for outstanding quality of images
With 12.1 effective megapixels, the camera's high performance zoom lens, and a
high-functioning imaging engine, the Pentax Optio I-10 provides bright, quality
photos with sharp details. Even when enlarged, the images fine detailed,
edge-to-edge sharpness, high-resolution prints.
Enhanced Face recognization even detects cats and dogs
The Optio I-10 includes enhanced Face Detection autofocus and auto exposure functions
that can detect up to 32 faces in the field of view and capture all of them in
critical focus with the most favorable exposure in a scant 0.03 seconds. This
enhanced Face Detection know how now permits photographers to fine-tune the camera to
sense cats and dogs. Photographers may instruct the camera to instinctively release the shutter the
instant the subject stands in front of the camera, which is particularly useful
when photographing pets.
CCD-shift-type SR device
The Optio I-10 incorporates a highly developed CCD-shift-type Shake Reduction (SR)
device that counterbalances camera shake by shifting the camera's image sensor (CCD)
vertically and horizontally relative to the amount of shake identifyed by the gyro sensor. This
provides exceptional camera-shake compensation comparable to up to 2.5 shutter steps even when
takinf pictures in lowlight environments such as sunsets, indoors or with telephoto.
Anti-shake
High-Sensitivity mode*
The Optio I-10 is programed to raise the sensitivity as high as ISO 6400 in low-lighting
environments in still-image shooting allowing photographers to use higher shutter speeds. This
in effect diminishes the undesirable consequences of camera shake and subject shake under
adverse lighting situations.
* When selecting the High-Sensitivity anti-shake mode the recorded size is fixed
at 5M (2592 x 1944 pixels).

Movie SR mode**
Pentax Movie SR mode allows the Optio I-10 to digitally reduce camera shake to
avoid blurry movie recording mode. ** By selecting the Movie SR mode, the angle of view
is converted narrower than normal shooting.
Recording
HD movies
The Optio I-10 captures unblemished movie images at TV percentages of 16:9 high-definition
(1280 x 720 pixels)* at 30 frames per second. This technique also provides an
assortment of editing operations that allows photographers to pull out still
photos, break up longer clips, and insert title images in video clips.
*When the Optio I-10's AV output terminal is used, movie clips are produced as normal
size image data. If the photographer desires to play back movie clips at (1280 x
720 pixels) high-definition-TV proportions, the data must be moved to a personal computer for play back.
Picture In Picture function for continuous display of a preferred screen
image
The Optio I-10 offers new Picture In Picture function, which permits
photographers to exhibit a thumbnail of an image in the upper left corner of the LCD
screen. This operation is useful when photographers want to display a recorded image to shoot subjects from the same
point of view and at the same size image every time (such as macro photography) or when
the photographer merely wants to preserve a desired screen image.
Creative digital filters for processing recorded images
The Optio I-10 includes 11 digital filters to add a range of visual results to recorded images without
going to your computer. Filters include Monochrome, Sepia, Soft filters Starburst,
and Toy Camera to generate cross, heart or star-shaped effects from nighttime
lighting or reflections from water. Users may apply more than one filter to the
same image.
