Fujifilm Finepix T300

Fujifilm Finepix T200

Fujifilm Finepix T300 First Rate photography just became a whole lot easier since the new Fujifilm FinePix T300 was introduced. One of a pair models that make up Fujifilm's new Finepix T models, the T300 offers the perfect answer for those looking to buy a loaded, simple to use and just as importantly, world slimmest 10 times compact digital zoom camera to take with them on their pursuits or simply use to photograph family activities, although don't want a monster price tag that goes with it.

This Fujifilm T300 compact Digital Camera provides a bunch of camera to a photographer thinking of upgrading to a more sophisticated device. Containing 14 megapixel resolution, a first-rate 0X optical wide-angle zoom lens (35mm 28-280mm equivalent), plus other advanced features most often found in advanced cameras.

Using a crystal-clear LCD 3" monitor containing a resolution of 230K-dots, the Fuji T300 also features sensitivity as high as 3200 ISO allowing you to take photos at dusk plus other poor-light environments, the CCD shift image stabilizer stops camera shake from destroying a good shot. Automatic scene mode knows when you're framing a landscape, a portrait, night portrait, macro image, etc. and make the correct tweaking to provide you the image you desire. Auto focus tracking keeps a moving subject in focus, while the smile/face/blink detection function optimizes people photos, catching the smile while omitting the blink. And in addition to all this techno-candy, you get HD movies with 720p hd resolution for those moments when only a video will do.

Dislike
The dynamic range in the majority of images is less then I'd like to have in photos containing many black levels leaving them with sort of a smudged appearance. In a lot of ways, I prefer the iPhone 4, output, although the T-300 has superior color reproduction and naturally an optical zoom.

The autofocus is more sluggish then I'd like, while I think this may be improved upon by turning off those extra features such as blink or face detection. Photographs shot using portrait mode do not get labeled as such, forcing manually rotation of their photo organization software. There's not too much in the form of compensation for vibration; something very much missing while using the big 10x zoom. Build quality is somewhat lax, the SD card/battery cover feels a bit cheap, while the lens rattles somewhat. Although, this is mostly a consequence of being small in size.

The camera microphone is a little weak with tendency to capture noises from other parts of the camera. Although still serviceable. New Review Aug 10, 2011
