CMOS DX-Format Sensor
Big APS-C size image sensor, the same sensor employed in Nikon DSLR cameras--features 16.2MP of resolution . It works in harmony with the Nikon EXPEED 2 imaging-processor engine to create sharp quality images, high ISO sensitivity all the way thru 25,600 equivalent with low noise. The processor administers image data with precision and high speed while preventing excessive heat generation. The subtraction of the low-pass optical filter allows the CoolPix A to reproduce exceptionally fine detail. Micro-lenses situated above the image sensor are assembled to produce natural, sharpness, edge-to-edge.

Acquire images equivalent to those captured with DSLR lenses. The lens features an ultra-compact layout using seven elements within five groups, along with a seven-bladed iris diaphragm delivering crisp in-focus points along with a satisfying background blur within the background out-of-focus areas of your images.
