Face identification is a technologically advanced and exhilarating new feature of the ELPH 530 providing a simple path to improve every image of people you love. Simply shoot a scene containing as many as12 faces of people you would like for the camera to catalog, then put in their names and ages. After a person is cataloged, the camera will select him or her from a group (even when photographing against a cluttered background) and subsequently adjust the focus and the exposure to their face, even distinguishing faces in profile shots.
Face identification is particularly illustrious for photographing babies and children. The system can distinguish your baby from a group of kids, then focus in on your infant when photographed beside an adult, and acquire her greatest smile by shooting three consecutive images when a smile is found. The flash even becomes disabled and not alarm the child and spoil the moment. Even older children moving about are followed, with exposure and focus continually adjusting using Servo AF; and with a single press of the shutter three consecutive images are acquired so you never miss the best shot. And because each face is identified, Face ID provides for easy searching of images by name.
