Nikon D80 Digital DSLR Camera Review

Nikon released their first camera in 1948 (the Nikon 1). They were determined to make the very best camera.  Leica was the undisputed leader in 35mm cameras, so Nikon set about to improve upon this camera and created various Nikon models through 1959. In May of 1959, the Nikon F single-lens reflex (SLR) camera was introduced and quickly became the unconfirmed standard of photo journalists and other professional photographers.  The F had interchangeable viewfinders, focusing screens and lenses. (Many of these lenses can be used on new Nikon digital cameras being made today). With these new F cameras Nikon bypassed Leica as the new world leader

By offering what users want -- and need -- to capture sensational pictures, Nikon cameras have continued to be the standards against which all other cameras are measured.  It has been said, "Canons are designed by engineers, Nikons are designed by photographers". You can get it here from
