Description
Nikon 24-85mm f/2.8-4.0D IF AF Zoom Nikkor Lens

This Nikkor 24-85mm f/2.8-4.0D lens takes care of a wide and enormously useful territory. It features the quickest aperture of any wide-angle zoom. It's also pretty small and light weight. A 1:2 macro is included, which easily reached by just flipping a switch. The non-rotating front when both focusing or zooming makes it a pleasure to use a polarizing filter. It's also internal focus, meaning there's no extending while focusing. This lens attempts to be the do it all leans with a 3.5x wide to telephoto zoom range ideal for both full-length portraits, landscapes, Featuring a fast f/2.8 aperture at the 24mm focal setting, it creates a 1:2 reproduction ratio when the settings are from 35 through 85mm. Both molded glass and hybrid aspherical lens elements allow higher optical performance shooting, while a rounded nine-bladed diaphragm creates a natural bokeh for out-of-focus regions. Did I mention that the filter attachment ring does not rotate while zooming or focusing .
The lens mount is made of metal, AF comes from the old-fashioned screw style and the lens includes an aperture ring making in congruent with virtually all Nikon cameras

No Auto focusing using Nikon D40,
D60, D3000, D3100, D5100 or D5000.
Chromatic aberrations become apparent when printing out really big, photos, It needs a filter or Photoshop help correct that. Also in macro mode, at 24mm it doesn't stop down tof/ 2.8, only stops down to f/3.2.

Features
AF - Nikkor's initial autofocus label,
signifying that focus handled by a motor integral to the body of the camera.
AS -
Aspherical lens elements
- Nikon unveiled the first lens in 1968 featuring aspherical camera lens elements. What makes them different? Aspherical lenses all but eliminates the issues of coma and related kinds of lens aberrations
even when employed at the maximum aperture.
D- Distance. Denoted after the f-number.
It signifies the lens has the capacity to use
Nikon's 3D Matrix Metering
on camera bodies where it is supported.
IF- Internal Focusing
The ability to have a lens focus while it's size remains unchanged. Nikons
IF engineering allows that to happen. All internal optical travel is contained
within the inside of the non-extension lens container.
RD- Rounded 9 Blade Diaphragm
Soft-focus images of point light resources create accepted polygonal shapes that
mirror the form of the cavity produced by the diaphragm blades.
SIC - Nikon Super Integrated Coating
Nikon uses an elite multilayer lens coating to augment the operation of its
lens elements which also helps diminish ghosting and flare to minute levels.
Nikon Super Integrated Coat also accomplishes several purposes,
