The Nikon VR 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 CX format Lens is a zoom 3x design created to be used with Nikon 1 CX mirror-less cameras. it's a 27-81mm (equivalent for 35mm SLR cameras) range delivers a remarkably useful range going from a wide-angle to a short telephoto that is just perfect for portraits, landscapes, parties, family photos, --in fact, perhaps 90% of all photographs.
The included VR II Vibration Reduction system makes for shooting at reduced shutter speeds, with crisper results, which is normally the situation. This is
particularly useful in poor-light environments, and when photographing with the long end of the zoom length (where the most trivial motion is magnified in the image).
With Vibration Reduction and Super Integrated Coating, this lens delivers sharp and gorgeous pictures, stills or videos. Internal focusing allows for a lighter, smaller, lens using a close focusing distance of less than 2", and it only only weighs in at 4.1 oz, it delivers a mighty artistic wallop in a tiny package.
With the widest lens available for the Nikon 1 system
being 10mm, (a 27mm 35mm equivalent focal
length). Now 27mm is not very wide. However the closest thing to a wide angle
would be the Sigma 8-16mm F4.5-5.6 DC HSM Lens
which would work out to a (24-48mm 35mm equivalent
on the Nikon 1 CX, still not all that wide) by using the Nikon FT-1 Lens Adapter
