This is a fast lens expressly created for maximum control and
assurance. You will never lose a shot due to slow

and even if you do the fast shutter speed can be put to use by
selecting a
higher aperture. For photographing

beautiful bokeh. The len's only downside is that it has a
somewhat tight
angel of view on 1.6 factor SLRs,
but there are no other
prime lenses in the non-L canon
model line that compare with this lens (unless it might be the 50mm 1.4).

This lens leaves nothing to dislike because the build quality is very good, it's excellent in poor light situations, specifically for freezing motion, and for awesome portraits. It worth every last cent. A great addition to your all around kit lens.
