Buck for buck this is the absolute best consumer-level Canon lens out there. The focal-length creates a great overall walk-around lens. There's onboard Image Stabilizer allow for sharp zoom photos without using a tripod. So if you have shaky hands, this is the lens that will help you compensate for that.

When mounted on an Canon EOS APS-C DSLR camera the 35mm equivalent crop factor is 29-216mm, With a length of onky 4" inches in and a weigh of around a pound, this lens works for advanced shooters desiring a zoom wide-angle for capturing landscapes or simply for it's telephoto capabilities to capture sports, the lens is already showing every sign of becoming an EOS users favorite.

It features 16 elements (one element of which is made of UD-glass) iwithn 12 groups, this Canon 18-135mm lens sports a viewing angle range around 74.2° through 11.3°, plenty wide to work for most landscape shooting and abundantly sufficient amount to capture more far off scenes. The internal focus goes as close as 1.5', and provides image stabilization as much as 4-stops of anti-shake-control when photographing in poor lighting situations.

Dislike

The focus motor is not USM, there's no override for manual focus, you should just spend the money, and get a USM lens. Some focus-hunting occurs at the wide angle end especially with low contrast or poor light shooting There is serious barrel distortion at the wide angle end. with some vignetting with large apertures, although not too bad Peripheral softness occurs at the wide end and with large apertures. Stopping down or using a more central portion of your frame with your subjects will help in this area. Canon forgot the distance scale while the biggest issue is that you're limited to EF-S with compatibility for full frame Canon bodies.
