Autofocus speed is accomplished thanks to the high speed CPU union the lens has with the camera along with the Inner Focusing System. Both auto and manual focus are possible, while UD and aspheric lens elements offer quality imaging while a zoom lock stops the lens from extending accidentally. Although it has a vast focal range, it's exceptionally lightweight and compact, which is also advantageous when shooting movies.
