Description: Sunpak .5x Wide-Angle - Economy Wide Angle Work Around
Ok, so you want a wide angle lens to go along with your 18-55mm kit lens, but
you can't justify a $500 to $1200 price tag just to shoot an occasional wide
angle photo. This $49.95 lens is not the perfect solution, although it's better
than emptying your wallet for a lens your probably. won't use that often and the
pictures are not all that bad. If your using the Nikon 18-55 kit lens, it just
screws on to the 52mm filter threads.
Plus there's a handy pinch release similar to a lens pinch cap, allowing you to
quickly return to normal. Mounted on the 18-55, serious vignetting occurs at
anything below 12mm, so by setting the zoom at 24mm, the effective angle of view
becomes 12mm (6mm better than 18mm). so the lens acts like a 12-55mm zoom. It
works great on the Nikon 55-200mm lens also, effectively turning it into a
27.5-200mm lens, which in many situations allows you to only have to mount one
lens by using the quick release .5x conversion lens. Using this conversion just
might keep a lot of dust off your mirror
