First off, let me say that my name is Gene Wright, but I am not the famous Gene
Wright in this book about San Francisco, nor am I related or connected in any
way and except for my love of photography, this is my only connection.

If you have ever visited or lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, you will
find this book a fantastic visual delight. Gene Wright (1916-2004) has
photographed the city from all vantage points. His photographs present a
constantly changing cityscape showing people, architectural wonders, and
landmarks of daily excitement of this colorful city. This spectacular book
spans over 50 historic years of time and includes more than 125 striking
images of San Francisco , many shot with a distinctive 140° panorama camera.

About the Author
In 1949 Gene Wright relocated to San Francisco and began shooting experimental
photographs, taking numerous pictures the city using a distinctive panorama camera
at elevated angles. He opened his photo studio in the heart of North Beach
In the 1950s . In 2002 he was presented the Key to SF, and was named a living legend by the SF Board of Supervisors.
