His discovery might not be of interest to you, but you are still glad he's telling you about it.
This book is kinda' like that.

All of this information just won't fin on a blog post, and spreading it over a blog makes the different topics difficult to browse. So back to analog another way of saying a book. It runs 340 pages.

Review cott Kelby's Digital Photography Boxed Set, Volumes 1, 2, and 3
In the usual Scott Kelby style he write these books as a collection of pointers to a friend photographer. Every page in all three books are written with one pointer or tip on each page. As Scott writes in the prelude:
"If you and I were out on a shoot, and you asked me, 'Hey,
how do I get this flower to be in focus, but I want the
background out of focus?' I wouldn't stand there and give
you a lecture about aperture, exposure, and depth of field.
Scott Kelby, author of the best-selling The Digital Photography Book, brings to life his “Photo Recipes” chapter—not just from that book, but from his smash best-selling follow-ups, volumes 2 and 3. In Photo Recipes Live: Behind the Scenes: Your Guide to Today's Most Popular Lighting Techniques, a two-hour video and companion booklet, Scott shows you exactly how it’s all done, from scratch, without holding anything back.
If you’ve ever wondered how the pros use natural light, studio light, and even direct daylight to get those amazing shots, you’ll see it all here, live, as it happens. Most of the shoot takes place in an amazing New York City loft photo studio as Scott re-creates the looks he describes in the book, along with some bonus lighting set-ups that aren’t in the book, to create a very special learning experience you won’t find anywhere else.

The
Perfect Portrait guide A tremendous book for all photographers. Every single page in it include at least one superb photograph with very helpful "imaginative" and "technological" remarks about what the author's artistic intention was and how the image was created from a technical standpoint including the lens type,
illumination, film, etc. A great number of the "technological" comments also feature schematic views of the subject and the
illumination source.

Understanding Exposure: How to Shoot Great Photographs with a Film or Digital Camera (Updated Edition)
I borrowed an older edition of this book from a friend, and I was overwhelmed at the amount of information it provided. Even though this older book was based upon film cameras, the basics that were there along with the picture examples were extremely helpful. This new book is practically complete update, the majority sections have been rewritten, along with many new subsections added to include specific particulars for digital photographers, many new photograph examples.
