Amazon Kindle software can be used on several devices and platforms which include: Microsoft Windows, iOS, Windows Phone, Mac OS X (10.5 or newer, with Intel processor only), BlackBerry, Android, webOS. Additionally there's an Amazon "cloud" reader which allows users to read, plus buy, Kindle books using their web browser.
Kindle content may be bought online and wirelessly downloaded in several countries, using typical Wi-Fi or using the Amazon 3G "Whispernet" network. Whispernet may be accessed without paying a monthly fee or a wireless subscription, although fees may be charged for delivering periodicals and other types of content while roaming internationally outside their customer's home country. Using the "Whispersync" service, users can synchronize their bookmarks, reading progress and further information across all Kindle hardware devices along with other mobile devices.
